It’s been great to open up and share the space with young people and to collaborate again with Your Next Move, May Project Gardens, MoYah, Solux Lifestyle, and Shama Mulla. Across eight sessions participants planted crops, learned more about sustainable growing techniques, used the crops they’d grown to make healthy meals, and then explored their feelings through poetry and rap.
To celebrate the end of the programme we held a community celebration event where the participants shared their work. Over 30 people came along and helped celebrate the achievements and new friendships forged by the sessions.
We’d like to thank Gloucester Guildhall, Arts Council England, Gloucestershire County Council, and Together Gloucester for supporting the Hip Hop Garden and look forward to potentially hosting them again.
